MARS Late Models Set to Make History Sunday Night at Belle Clair Fairgrounds Park Speedway
BELLEVILLE, Ill. (Aug. 26, 2026)– History will be made this Sunday night, Aug. 30, as the MARS Late Model Championship powered by FK Rod Ends becomes the first Late Model touring series to compete on the all-new Belle Clair Fairgrounds Park Speedway.
With more than 30 Late Model teams expected, race fans will witness one of the biggest events yet at the newly reconstructed quarter-mile dirt oval located at the historic Belle Clair Fairgrounds Park in Belleville, Ill., just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
The spotlight will shine on a heated championship battle as Ryan Unzicker enters the event holding a narrow advantage over Jason Feger in the MARS Late Model Championship standings. With valuable championship points on the line and the prestige of winning one of the first major events on the new facility, every lap will carry added significance.
In addition to the Late Models, fans will also enjoy action from the MARS Modified Championship powered by Summit Racing Equipment, featuring some of the Midwest's top Modified drivers competing on the all-new racing surface.
The Sunday night event is expected to attract not only the full roster of MARS series regulars, but also competitors from neighboring tracks, surrounding regions and national touring series eager to be part of this historic occasion. The race marks just the second event ever contested on the all-new Belle Clair Fairgrounds Park Speedway, adding another layer of excitement and anticipation for drivers and fans alike.
"This event represents a major milestone for the new Belle Clair Fairgrounds Park Speedway," said Toby Kruse, the track’s operating manager.
