Timm Steals $10,000 Fall Jamboree Thriller in Final Turn at Deer Creek

601 9/26/2026 USMTS - United States Modified Touring Series Timm Steals $10,000 Fall Jamboree Thriller in Final Turn at Deer Creek SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (September 26, 2026) — Jake Timm led the one lap that mattered most Saturday night. In a finish that brought the 28th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree to a breathtaking close, Timm swept past Brandon Davis coming out of Turn 4 and beat him to the checkered flag by just 0.038 seconds. The last-lap pass delivered Timm a $10,000 payday, his 14th career Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com victory and his first Saturday night Fall Jamboree win. For much of the 50-lap main event at Deer Creek Speedway, the story appeared to belong to Tanner Mullens. Starting on the outside of the front row in the three-wide lineup, the Wichita, Kansas, driver charged into the lead and controlled the first 38 laps. Mullens looked to have the race well in hand until his motor expired on Lap 38, bringing his bid for the Fall Jamboree crown to a sudden end. USMTS national points leader Brandon Davis inherited the lead and held it as the laps wound down. Timm stayed close enough to make one final move. With the white flag in sight, he saw his opening, slid past Davis and reached the stripe first by a margin that could scarcely have been closer. “The scoreboard wasn’t working, so I wasn’t even sure what lap we were on,” Timm said in victory lane. “Thank God I was on his bumper when I saw the white, and I had an opportunity to slide Davis. That was the closest race I’ve ever had in my life. I tried not to kill my tires until I saw the halfway point. I knew it was time to go.” The dramatic finish capped a Saturday program that began with drivers lined up according to the points they earned Thursday and Friday. Three Real Racing Wheels B-Mains completed the field for the 26-car feature, with Keith Foss, Gabe Hodges and Rodney Sanders winning their respective races and securing spots in the fourth row of the three-wide main event. Davis finished a heartbreaking second after leading the closing stretch, but he leaves Deer Creek with a healthy advantage over Jim Chisholm in the USMTS national points standings. With only the final weekend of the 2026 season remaining, Davis is in position to secure the national championship by showing up and earning his points. Reece Solander drove his No. 5 machine from seventh to third to complete the Featherlite Trailers Top 3 podium. Alex Williamson advanced from 14th to fourth, earning the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger of the Night award and its $100 bonus. Williamson also collected an additional $2,000 from Dustin Scott and Cobra Transportation as the highest finisher who races weekly at Deer Creek Speedway. Talan Willis rounded out the top five, finishing where he started and putting the finishing touch on a strong weekend with the USMTS. Saturday also featured the $1,500 Summit Racing Equipment Non-Qualifier Race, where Mark Dotson found victory lane after a difficult weekend. “It was great to pull off a win after a rough weekend with all of my family here with us,” Dotson said. Joe Horgdal climbed from seventh to second in the Non-Qualifier Race, while Joe Ludemann advanced from eighth to third. Darwin Karau finished fourth, and Charlie Steinberg completed the top five. Three nights of racing at Deer Creek produced a Fall Jamboree finale that will be remembered for Mullens’ commanding run, Davis’ late lead and Timm’s perfectly timed charge out of the final corner. The USMTS now turns its attention to the final weekend of the 2026 season, with stops at Lakeside Speedway and 81 Speedway on October 30–31. More information on the championship standings and both events will be announced soon.
