TRIPLE CROWN: Unique Format Awaits POWRi/NOW600 $uper $eries at Port City Raceway
BELLEVILLE, IL. (September 8, 2026) — A unique format awaits the POWRi/NOW600 RaceTech Titanium $uper $eries competitors in October as Port City Raceway hosts the Triple Crown, a four-night event featuring a special preliminary-night format and a championship-style finale.
The four-night affair begins Wednesday with an open practice session, followed by three consecutive nights of racing Thursday through Saturday.
Thursday night will feature Stock Non-Wing preliminary action, while Friday night will showcase A-Class Winged preliminary competition. Restricted and Junior Sprints will compete all three nights, with both Stock Non-Wing and A-Class returning Saturday for the Triple Crown finale.
NON-WING & A-CLASS PRELIMINARY NIGHT FORMAT
Drivers will pill draw to determine the night's qualifying order and will be divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. Each group will compete in a complete racing program.
Qualifying will be conducted with half of the heats qualifying at a time, with each driver qualifying against the other competitors assigned to their respective heat.
Following qualifying, Group A and Group B heats will be established utilizing a four-car invert per heat. Qualifying points and passing points will then determine the feature lineups for each group.
The top four finishers from each group's A-Feature will lock into Saturday's Triple Crown finale. Group A qualifiers will occupy the inside positions, while Group B qualifiers will line up on the outside.
All remaining competitors will be assigned to Saturday's Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQs) based on their preliminary-night points totals. In the event of a tie in points, qualifying time will serve as the tiebreaker.
RESTRICTED & JUNIOR SPRINT PRELIMINARY NIGHT FORMAT
Restricted and Junior Sprints will compete in a complete program on both Thursday and Friday nights, utilizing the standard POWRi/NOW600 $uper $eries format featuring group qualifying, heat races, and features.
Following Friday night's competition, the top eight drivers in combined event points will lock into Saturday's Triple Crown finale.
All remaining competitors will be assigned to Saturday's LCQs based on their combined preliminary-night points totals. Any ties in points will be broken by qualifying time.
