Wesley Smith Captures 2026 POWRi WAR Sprint League Championship
Belleville, IL. (9/22/26) – Some championships define a driver’s career, while others feel like a matter of when, not if. For Nixa, Missouri’s Wesley Smith, the 2026 POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League championship is the latest accomplishment in a career already defined by winning, consistency, and a collection of league-leading records.
Entering the final event with a twenty-point advantage, Smith closed out the 2026 campaign with two feature victories, including his twentieth career POWRi WAR triumph, further extending his position atop the league’s all-time wins list.
Smith also recorded two Quick Times, three heat race victories, and two High Point Qualifier honors throughout the season. His two Quick Times pushed his league-leading career total to sixteen since 2021, while his three heat race victories increased his total to twenty-eight over that span. Two High Point Qualifier honors brought his league-leading total to twelve since 2021.
When Smith found the front of the field, he made the most of it. His forty-three laps led in 2026 increased his league-leading total to 188 laps led since 2023. Smith also earned a Hard Charger Award during the season while gaining nineteen positions in feature competition.
For all the numbers that have followed Smith throughout his POWRi WAR career, one accomplishment had always eluded him: a championship. That changed in 2026.
Smith’s path to the title was built the same way as his career—being fast when it mattered, putting himself in position to win, and consistently working his way toward the front of the field. The result is a championship that adds a POWRi WAR points title to the career milestones that have already made Wesley one of the league’s defining competitors.
The championship may be new, but the caliber of driver behind it is not. Driving the No. 44 with support from Drydene, Shriners Hospitals for Children, All Metal Recycling, Helm Racing, and Wesley Smith Racing YouTube, Wesley Smith is the 2026 POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League Champion.
Jack Wagner, Wyatt Burks, Bryson Smith, and Tom Curran completed the top five in the final championship standings.
